It's no secret that most of us want to succeed in our personal and professional lives. The remarkable thing about success, though, is the various definitions it holds for each of us. Successful people are often held to a standard they feel they need to measure up to, but this leaves almost no wiggle room for the interpretation of success. One person may have reached their goals by accumulating wealth, but another may have found success by being able to live with peace of mind.

Success is a personal choice, not a destination.

We live in a society in which everyone is always striving for their next goal. But what about the journey in between? Yes, there are moments of celebration when we break a personal record or finally put in an hours-long workout. But in the long run, if we never stop to enjoy those moments along the way, we're missing out on so much!

Success is an outlook on life.

Many people believe that success is a personal measure of how productive a person is. Others may see success as being measured by how much wealth they’ve accumulated. But what about those who have no ambition to ever be wealthy, but have the mindset of always trying their best? Is this view of success any less valid than those others who are constantly striving for something bigger and better? Success isn't about where you want to be, it’s about who you want to become.

Success is also about how you see yourself, view the world, and what you’re able to do with your time.

It's about taking care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is about taking control of your life and making it work for you. But remember, success is not something that just happens without any effort on your part. It takes hard work to achieve success no matter what you are trying to accomplish in life.

In my eyes, success can be anything you want it to be. For me personally, success doesn't just mean money or business prestige. Success also means my health and my family life.

What does success mean for you in the year ahead? It doesn't matter if your goal is career success, personal success, or just life success. The most important thing to remember is that you need to enjoy your successes along the way.
